A Successful Series of CSRD Webinars: Driving Sustainable Water Management Across Borders

In line with the mission of helping businesses navigate the complexities of responsible water use, Water Footprint Implementation have been organizing a highly successful series of webinars focusing on the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and its implications for businesses worldwide.

The first webinar took place on 20th June 2024, followed by a second one on 31st July, and we wrapped up the third and latest session on 9th October 2024. Across these three insightful sessions, we were honored to engage with over 150 participants from various countries and industries, all eager to deepen their understanding of water footprint management within the CSRD framework. Jurian van der Zwet, our Programme Manager, lead the webinar that provided valuable insights into the practical applications of water footprint management in the context of CSRD.

Highlights from the CSRD’s Webinar Series

One of the main goals of these webinars is to equip businesses with practical knowledge about managing their water footprint effectively under the CSRD’s requirements. Our discussions cover a wide array of crucial topics, including:

  • Understanding the CSRD: Covering ESG requirements for companies, both in and outside the EU.
  • Water Footprint Importance: Exploring its role in corporate sustainability and reporting.
  • CSRD Compliance: Key steps to meet new regulatory standards.
  • Tools and Methodologies: Introducing the Water Footprint Assessment Tool and our upcoming business-focused version in 2025.
  • Benefits for Reporting: Water Footprints provide critical, credible data for CSRD reports, helping businesses ensure compliance and sustainable water use.

Global Engagement and Positive Feedback

The diversity of participants—ranging from small enterprises to large multinational corporations—reflects the growing recognition of the importance of water sustainability on a global scale. Many attendees expressed their appreciation for the depth of knowledge shared and the practical insights offered throughout the sessions.

This series has shown us that businesses around the world are increasingly committed to responsible water management and are eager to adapt to the evolving demands of sustainability reporting.

What’s Next?

As CSRD regulations continue to evolve, Water Footprint Implementation remains dedicated to supporting companies in their sustainability journeys. As more events, tools, and resources are developed to help businesses integrate water management into their sustainability strategies, more webinars will be organized to introduce them to everyone.

We are grateful to all the attendees for their enthusiastic participation and we look forward to more such collaboration and engagement in our future webinars.
